The Office is an American television sitcom that aired on NBC premiering on March 24, 2005, lasting nine seasons. It is an adaptation of the original BBC series of the same name. When NBC announced the remake, fans of the original British show were prepared to be disappointed. The main fear was the the British humour intrinsic to the first shows success couldn’t be replicated by the American version. And they were right, the first show couldn’t replicate its predecessor, and it was all the better for it. The American Office took some element of the original but infused them with American humour, more outlandish plots and characters, and creative new story lines. The Office is a wonderful, fearless spotlight on American workplace tensions. Steve Carell as Michael Scott, John Krasinski as Jim Halpert, and Rainn WIlson as Dwight Schrute largely carry the show. The infighting yet supportive trio is integral to the series’ success. That is not to say the rest of the cast is bad, they too are a crucial part to the show, with hilarious characters to play off of the show has endless refreshing comedic moments. This series is a must watch, some of the best comedy on television. 4.5/5 Stars. @Joaquin of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board Oh… My… Gosh… that was my reaction after finishing this season. Of course I was left in pool of my own tears, following (spoiler alert) Michael’s leave from The Office. I mean, it was totally heartbreaking! It had me in a mood for days, and I just couldn’t get over it. But now that we’ve crossed the bad part, let’s get to the good part of the season. Again, like any other season of The Office, I binged it… super hard. Who could forget Jim and Pam’s wedding? Absolutely adorable! And the fact that they’re expecting parents makes it even more exciting! I also love that Erin got a larger role to play this season, she truly makes the show more interesting. The constant flirtatious banter between her and Andy makes it even better, as we haven’t gotten to see this side of Andy yet. Personally, this season just kept on getting better and better for me! @thesoundofcolours of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
