I am so glad to be done with this novel. City of Fallen Angel’s was the most pointless book I’ve ever read. It should’ve been a novella. This is the worst book so far. After thoroughly enjoying City of Glass and wanting more, I am disappointed. The book was quite boring, and nothing really happened until the last few chapters. The writing was incredibly lazy. Clare hardly bothers to write one sentence that isn’t a cliché. There is no substance to be found. The entire plot unravels into an endless drivel of trivial relationship drama. Her characters, who used to be interesting, have been eviscerated and are now one-sided stereotype shadows of their original selves. The only redeeming part of the book was the mentions of Will Herondale and the appearance of Brother Zachariah (who you will know if you read the Infernal Devices first). Overall, this book was a disappointment and I am happy to forget that it had ever happened. I’m a little scared for the next book after this dumpster fire. Rating – 1/5. @Average_Bookworm of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library I became very frustrated with this book, not because it was written poorly or anything was wrong with the interest, but because it was too emotionally overwhelming! Have you ever read a book where you feel so deeply for the characters, and then feel burdened when they face burdens? Well, this book had this affect on me. I could not believe that after "City of Glass," the plot could get even more captivating. Readers should mentally prepare themselves for another roller-coaster ride of adventure and suspense. I would definitely recommend this book (and series) to those who believe in fantasy. 5/5 - @Siri of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
