This is a good concert film for fans of guitar-centred, stadium-rocking, electric blues. Many fine musicians perform on this two-disc set. The interviews are choppy though. The producers seem to think that we will always know some musician simply by seeing them, and that if speakers use a first name, we'll all know who they're discussing, even if that person doesn't turn up till later in the movie. Besides, there's far too much display of men soloing in what Brits call the "wankfest" style, making this primarily a movie for either those new to the blues or fans of loud, hard-driving, electric-guitar blues. "Crossroads" (2010) is worth seeing for guitar players and air-guitar heads, but for those whose whose idea of blues doesn't always involve posturing while chording high notes on electric guitar, it gets boring. I found the performances repetitive and didn't finish the discs.
(Unfortunately, the copy I received was dirty or badly scratched -- with luck, it'll be clean by the time you get it. Folks, please be gentle with library CDs and DVDs; don't use them as coasters for drinks or as toys for the kids and dog. If you receive a scratched disc, leave a brief note in the case to let library staff know that it's damaged. No verbal abuse please, staff don't watch these every time we return them.)

The Faustian myth that Robert Johnson sold his soul at a crossroads to achieve success may be true. His spirit could be seen emerge from the fantastic vibrations reverberating from the stacks of speakers of which these inspired mortals musicians plug their stringed instruments into. This is not just music, its a way of life for the severely infected.

Definitely good viewing - this is a 2-disc set - if you are a fan of the featured musicians. Well shot and well edited. Eric Clapton's appearance was very limited though.
