It's amazing how a certain tone can be great for one audience, but falls flat for another. Vicky Bliss is an older version of Sammy Keyes or Cameron Morgan. That being said, she should behave like an older version. But her maturity level is stuck in junior high. I found her adventures silly and annoying rather than cute and amusing. I could not finish the book. Elizabeth Peters’ Amelia Peabody-Emerson series led me to expect something better.
