(More "Quotes" and "Summary" on the DVD format; the short clips in "Special features" are in both formats)

A review of the Chinese history chronologically from the tamer of the Yellow River "Yu the Great = 大禹" of "Xia dynasty = 夏朝" in 2200 – 2100BC to modern times. Unlike other similar programs, this one is narrated with world perspective and compared the momentous events and people in China to times and figures against other cultures from the Greek, Arab, India etc. See episode guide in "Summary."
Example 1: "Su Song = 蘇頌" of 1020 as the Chinese Leonardo da Vinci of 1452, but to put it more correctly, Leonardo is the Western Su Song.
Example 2: "Dream of the Red Chamber 1791" often compared to "War & Peace 1867."
Example 3: All roads led to Xian (Silk Road terminus ~200BC) as all roads led to Rome, the center of the Roman Empire from 27BC to 285AD.
(more in "Quotes.")
