Pirates of the Caribbean series is wonderful for nearly 13 hours of binge watching (much more if one cares to check out the bonus features.) This is the 2nd film in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy:
The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) 2h 23m ★★★★½
Dead Man's Chest (2006) 2h 31m - Return of the major characters from Black Pearl except Captain Hector Barbossa is replaced by captain of the Flying Dutchman, a heartless Davy Jones (Bill Nighy,) and the story gets darker as well.
At World's End (2007) 2h 49m
Two more add-ons are:
On Stranger Tides (2011) 2h 17m
Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017) 2h 33m

Compared to the first film, this one doesn't meet the expectations because the tone of the movie felt like it was geared towards children. There were several unnecessary scenes full of goofiness that didn't need to be in the film, but I think Disney put it in the final cut for families. The movie was more focused on Captain Jack Sparrow than the title of the movie. Overall, I enjoyed the movie as it continued exploring the pirates world.

Against all odds, Disney somehow outdid itself with the sequal. A great movie on its own, an even better sequal, and Davy Jones is a sight to behold. Even 12 years later, he is still one of the best CGI things out there.

Pretty good… not my favourite.

Not bad.

I was enjoyable. It was something you watch once, and never see again. Johnny Depp was great.

Great movie, but when you consider how great the third one is....:) Just please, if you're going to watch this one, do not give up hope at the end! Watch At World's End!!

Dead men tell no tales... A more convoluted storyline, several antagonists, & scenes that stretch belief are all intertwined with many instances of scenes & dialogue taken directly from the POTC ride in Disneyland™

LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!! Davy Jones has got to be the best, most disgusting, most horrible villain EVER!!!!! Such a good movie!

A few amusing moments, but generally disappointing. I fast-forwarded through some boring spots. Plenty of action for action's sake. Visually, it's dark and grungy.
