The Great Pyramid . . . Stonehenge . . . Atlantis. These places and more are covered in this, the first volume of Time-Life's Mysteries of the Unknown. Perhaps the biggest surprise this book holds is that the oldest account in existence of Atlantis was written by the Greek philosopher Plato. Fascinating stuff.

All the places, all the mystery, all the wonder. Time-Life's series, Mysteries of the Unknown, captures the imagination as it delves into subject matters taboo, spiritual, paranormal, and unexplained. The editors wisely withhold judgement, leaving readers to draw their own conclusions. MYSTIC PLACES is the first volume of the series, covering geographic hot spots like the Great Pyramid, Bermuda Triangle, Atlantis, and associated artifacts. Extensive bibliography and index.
