I really have enjoyed this book, but I agree with the other reviewers that this isn't one of their best works.

I liked how in this book their were many different narrators, but it focused mostly on Naomi and Ely. I liked how each narrator had lots of personality.

Rachel Cohn and David Levitham are both amazing authors and I liked this book but they've written much better books together.

Of the three books written by these authors, I found this one to be the least satisfying. That being said, it is still a pretty good book. Their other books seemed to be books that either males or females would enjoy but this one put so much of an emphasis on the love story, and not nearly as much emphasis on music, adventure, or otherwise that I would say that is book came across as much more like chick lit then I thought it was meant to. That being said, the character's were well written. I especially loved the character of Ely.

It's a total lie to say there's only one person you're going to be with for the rest of your life. If you're lucky - and if you try really hard - there will always be more than one. (pg. 230)

There's no such thing as a soulmate...and who would want there to be? I don't want half of a shared soul. I want my own damn soul. I think I'm going to learn to appreciate the word 'close'. Because that's what Naomi and I are. We're close. Not all the way there. Not identical. Not soulmates. But close. Because that's as far as you should ever get with another person: very very close. That's what a want with Bruce too. I want to be close. It's bullshit to think of friendship and romance as being different. They're not. They're just variations of the same love. Variations of the same desire to be close. (pg. 224)

As one great man wrote, 'I am nothing special, of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thoughts. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, that has always been enough.' - Nicholas Sparks (pg.151)
