When Chris, a high-strung 24-hour progressive news junkie, and his more levelheaded wife Kai learn that citizens are being asked to sign a loyalty oath to the president, their reaction is disbelief, followed by idealistic refusal. But as the Thanksgiving deadline to sign approaches, the combination of sparring relatives, Chris's own agitation, and the unexpected arrival of two government agents sends an already tense holiday dinner gathering completely off the rails.

Someone had to much money and decided to make a film

Starts off reasonably well except for the needless overuse of profanity. The movie devolves into a silly, unbelievable, ridiculous second half! Casting leaves much to be desired! Could have been so much better! Don't waste your time!

Ike wrote, directed, and starred in this movie and he definitely should have handed the reins over on at least the directing part; this movie was flat and the jokes didn't land at all. A waste of Tiffany Haddish and Carrie Brownstein's talents. Skip it.

This movie is an ok comedy but has a powerful warning about the dangers of governments. You can see how some citizens given certain powers can actually turn into the Gestapo of Nazi Germany. Today I see Bill Blair as being one of these individuals who could be part of a Gestapo. Bill Blair was a former chief of police in Toronto who became an mp and is responsible for the new breathalyzer tests that gives the police the power to pull a person out of a restaurant, pull them from their job, or even from their own house to give them the test. Refusal makes you guilty even though you may not even had a drink. These types of laws should be banned and a person like Bill Blair that creates these types of laws should be fired and removed by power. Bill is the type of person I could see ending up with war crimes if there was a war. People have an attitude that Bill is harmless as they would never drink and drive but they have never been on the receiving end of the law or they may think different. Now Bill is trying for a new gun laws.

An absolutely terrible movie!
Got through maybe 30 minutes, before I just could not take any more of the drivel.
No one should be subjected to a movie this badly written and acted.
Haddish should have passed on making this one.
I should have passed on watching any of it.

I grew up in the 1970's & I am not sure if this movie was trying to reference then or not. I found it was sort of stupid--I know somebody is going to reference Trump from my notes---but that isn't what I got out of it.

It just seemed to be a lot of people that disliked each other, had no desire to spend a holiday together, & all of them thought they were the only important person in the room.

I also got that the movie was referencing the government trying to exert control over the citizens but I think this would have been done better if it had been a serious movie.
