Hailed as "the most romantic film of the year!" (Bill Zwecker, Fox-TV) Academy Award winner Gwyneth Paltrow (Shakespeare in Love) and Aaron Eckhart (Erin Brockovich) star in this sexy, seductively intriguing mystery. Maud Bailey (Gwyneth Paltrow) and Roland Michell (Aaron Eckhart) are two dedicated literary scholars with nothing in common - except their obsession with the two Victorian poets they have devoted their lives to studying. But all that changes when a newly discovered cache of love letters reveals the two poets were entangled in a forbidden affair. Now, as Maud and Roland embark on a wildly romantic journey in search of the truth, the mystery of the past will engulf them, as the passions of the present possess them.

Loved this Romantic Mystery from start to its surprise, albeit, predictable finish.

A well executed parallel between the modern day scholars' and the Victorian poet's love spiced with intrigues. Great scenery.

A totally underrated film of the gorgeous novel by AS Byatt. I adored this.

just finished the book and then watched the movie, which was better than I expected. very complex novel made into a much less complex movie. I liked the parallels between the Victorian and the modern romances. loved the scholarly intrigue and the politics of academia.

The book Possession by A.S. Byatt that the movie was based on was wonderful. The characters were believable and compelling.
Unfortunately, the movie did not live up to the book. The romance between the movie characters was not convincing, unlike the book.

Read the book, forget about the movie.
