***Dark thriller. 8 hours to long. Good acting. Very detailed into all dysfunctional characters. Very depressing series.

Hidden should have stayed in hiding. It's too long with too many details and characters.

Just one disc to long, with some editing this would have been great as six episodes. The music is overly dramatic for every scene which kills the point. The acting is very well done and the running stories around the main one is interesting.

If you liked the Hinterland detective series, you'll enjoy this one - it's by the same creative team and has the same deliberate pacing, gritty plot, and Welsh setting. The acting is phenomenal and the visuals are stunning. Completely engrossing if you don't mind pretty disturbing subject matter.

Not very likeable police drama thriller! Too dark, too gritty, too serious, too slow, too long!
Also, this show may really upset certain sensitive viewers!

It is hard to like anyone here, except for the little girl! The only one, one can really feel for!

Usually, in a police drama we get to know the main detectives that are personable and we get to love them with all their quirks and issues! Not here! The main character, the female detective, DI John, is very distant, standoffish, and almost unreachable!
There are some touching family moments between this detective and her dying father! Yet, she seems patronizing even to her Dad at times!
Every one seems to lead sad, depressing lives! It is bound to put any viewer into a dark, broody mood, also!

Not a series I would recommend! There are much better detective series out there! I suggest you skip this one!

Against the rather bleak background of a cloudy and rainy northern Wales, we have the local police trying to catch a serial abductor of young women. The series must have been set up for weekly broadcast of the episodes, for everything moves slowly, sometimes to the point of tedium. The main police characters have personal problems, of course, as do the villains, so that slows down the plot even more. Decent acting makes 'Hidden' watchable, but you'll need to draw on your patience to get through it all.

A dark, gritty and complex police drama with great characters and acting. I was glad I put the subtitles on because the Welsh pronunciation and names are unusual.

Refreshing, well done. Ok mix of English and Welsh. Slow different but rewarding.

Slow but intense. Good psychological police series taking place in beautiful Wales.

Would rate it so-so. A very dark drama with some very grisly scenes and very disturbed characters. (I had to close my eyes during some of the scenes, which is rare for me.) Acting is hit and miss, except for Cad's partner Owen, who must come to terms with conflicting personal feelings and is the only character who really matures during the episodes. Very slow-paced. More of a personal drama than a crime drama, with a lot of drawn-out, overly dramatic scenes. Nevertheless, I watched all eight episodes to see the disappointing conclusion.
