The one thing that kept irritating me about this book was. She kept highlighting what was coming up in the next chapter and what we just read. To me it's as though the publisher had asked her to increase her page count and this is how she managed it. To be honest you could watch her speal on you tube and be done, a book wasn't neccessary.

I was a little apprehensive starting this book. I hadn't read her first two books, and have read a tonne of self-help books lately that helped me with absolutely nothing. I absolutely loved this book though. The idea of turning your weaknesses into strengths, instead of trying to totally change yourself to tackle your weaknesses, really appealed to me. I've always been considered a little bit weird, and saw that as a weaknesses. Learning how to own my weirdness, re-frame it as "quirkiness", and use it to my advantage has already helped me a lot. "You Do You" frames self-help as "taking what is already you, making that work for you, and using that to propel yourself forward and be a better version of you". This was a breath of fresh air after reading book after book after book of "here's how to change everything about you to make you better".
