I absolutely loved this book!
I loved reading about the struggles that Hezekiah and Hephzibah went through in their marriage and their pain in not being able to have children. You could really feel their pain and their anguish over not having children together, their insecurities, their struggles with trusting God, and their attempts to fix their problems on their own.
I loved reading about how Hezekiah briefly took matters into his own hands and later came to realize that he was still trying to control everything and not fully letting go and trusting that God would save him and his country from the Assyrians and from everything else.
I really loved how the story still included so much about Eliakim and Jerusha and their family. The fears that Jerusha still had as well as the calling she felt from God to befriend Hephzibah and to show her God’s mercy.
Not only did this book really showcased God’s mercy and forgiveness it also showed His power and His punishment for those that offend Him and blaspheme His Holy name.
