The movie is confusing at first because the two blonde women look similar, and almost every male actor has the same color hair. It jumps around from time to time in the beginning also. But I liked the twist that came later.
Has a lot of sex and alcohol drinking. Some nudity and violence too.

The Girl on the Train is an exciting thriller about a woman named Rachel, who watches the same couple at their home from the train she takes every morning and night, until one day she sees something that will change her life the lives of everyone involved. I really enjoyed this book because the storyline was fast paced and very interesting, with many small and large twists that you won’t see coming. Another aspect of this book that makes it so exciting is the unreliable narrator, who can’t remember what happened or can’t trust the memories she has, which makes the story much more suspenseful. I would recommend this book to anyone 15 or over who is into suspense and mystery books, and I would rate this book 10/10 stars. @bookaholic of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board

I read the book before seeing the video; my wife had not. The movie was so confusing, I had to "pause" the playback half a dozen times to explain to her what was going on. The book's time changes were difficult enough to keep track of: in the movie they were incomprehensible.Too bad the locale was changed from the London suburbs to somewhere along the coast in the USA, necessitating an American cast, who are seldom as accomplished actors as their Brit counterparts. (And why does the heroine have a British accent???)
As usual, the book was better.

Creepy and intense. Brilliant acting by Emily Blunt as Rachel. Without spoiling the end- the villain was the villain, but the most despicable character in the movie was Megan. Any scene with her in it made my skin crawl. No sure if this was intended.

Very confusing movie.......woman just rides the train day after day, daydreaming?? Fantasy or real life. Hard to tell.

Wow! The Blunt character only needs one trip to AA to turn her life from a bottle-a-day girl to an astute investigator of male perfidy. There are as many holes in the logic of this film to rival a Swiss cheese - but never mind; the hack director, Tate Taylor, will make sure that the standard Hollywood ending will prevail.

Poor Edgar Ramirez. Once upon a time, he had a bright future after his great performance in Assayas' "Carlos". Now he is relegated to portraying an unethical shrink. This film might have had some redemption if Blunt had been replaced by Julia Hummer. Ms Hummer could have done a reprise of her part as Ramirez' flunky, Nada. Nada would certainly know how to deal with those male scumballs.

It thought this was great! An excellent social commentary on relationships. I really enjoyed the suspense and the mystery. I liked how you see different puzzle pieces and they slowly start to connect. Actors were fantastic.

The book was better. A scene that was deleted from the movie was a bit important. The scene was written in the book and should have been in the movie, to enhance the psychosis of one of the characters. I really did not enjoy the movies as much as I did the book. I give 3 stars.

This movie came out around all the hype of female actors not getting paid as much as men.

After watching it, applying simple economics of supply and demand, I can understand why there is that pay differential.

This is the slowest moving drizzle every to be given the moniker of "murder mystery". There are about 15 minutes (and I am being generous) of actual entertainment value, the rest of the movie you can ignore and watch something more entertaining.
Like Barney.
Or the little sparkles that float around in the air when caught by a sunbeam.
A slug as it moves across your driveway has more action.

I would give it a 1 star, but that would only serve in having people think it was worth such a lofty level.
