While many of us have visible and invisible human differences from each other, I'm fairly certain none of us are of mixed species.

'Hello, My Name Is Octicorn' is poignant in it's clear lesson but the possibility that Mom Octopus and Dad Unicorn met in a personal ad "for fun, friendship and possible strange looking-offspring" isn't quite a message for little ones. It's a rather sad little story with quite evocative illustrations.

I'm glad to have checked it out of the library and read it before sharing it with our youngsters, which I will not be doing.

My whole family enjoyed the funny narration, goofy illustrations, and sweet storyline.

Octicorn is half octopus and half unicorn which are two creatures I really like. Even though he is different, he would make a fun friend for anyone.

This book is hilarious. It must be read in a silly voice (I prefer a nasal one similar to Marcel the Shell with Shoes On) and at a similar pace. Fun.
