Elizabeth and Jack are torn apart when their younger siblings (Elizabeth's sister Julie and Jack's brother Tom) are involved in a car accident. While Jack tries to get to the bottom of how the calamity took place, he discovers very few allies in the Thatcher household, bringing his relationship with Elizabeth into question. Back in Hope Valley, Abigail is once again fighting to keep her cafe afloat when Mayor Gowen (resentful of Lee's big win in a poker game) threatens to sell the cafe to a buyer who is interested in the property. Elsewhere, Rosemary LeVeaux tries her hand at teaching and directing while Elizabeth is dealing with her family back in the city of Hamilton.

Definitely an arc for forgiveness and new beginnings. Elizabeth and Jack must work out their already rocky relationship when their rebellious, younger siblings are in a car accident together. Abigail must find some kind of forgiveness in her heart for Bill Avery, Mayor Gowen seeks to put Lee Coulter's sawmill out of business, and Rosemary and Lee try to figure out just what their relationship is. Back with full drama and tension, this volume is a good continuation of the series. Can't wait for the next one!!
