Good story and pictures

This is so funny
I read it two times.
Enjoying the meter,
the pictures and rhymes.

A boy who's beginning
A new year at school
Tells fantastical stories
Of things fun and cool

To a teacher who's strict
And believes in the rules.
The teacher's complaints
Simply give him more fuel!

Tales of fabulous travels,
and marvelous finds
make the teacher insist
the boy's out of his mind

But the student persists,
he continues to spout
'Til the teacher exclaims,
"Tell the truth or get out!"

Then what happened?
You say. I can't tell you, you see.
Just get out and read,
"My New Teacher and Me"!

A wildly, ridiculous ride of rhymes describes a boy's imaginative excuses. His teacher does not buy it though, for they are just impossible. What may seem impossible is not always so, it just takes an open mind. Visionaries, the greatest leaders and thinkers of our time, can see the impossible; children are like this too, but most adults lose this ability. So the boy teaches the teacher, which makes this all the more wonderful a lesson.
Only the most colourful and whimsical of art could match this boy's creativity, which is exactly what the artist delivers, including a nice dash of visual humour as well. Before each change in story, a preview is provided of the following pages images, which reflects on the boys mind as it races ever forward, seamlessly flowing from one tale to the next.
The rhyming combinations too are of the highest quality, even being used within the page layout; one of the best examples being, "Now open your textbooks to page number three-", and on the next page continues, " And that's when he stopped, and he stared right at me!" The action of stopping is represented by splitting the rhyme over two pages, with the teacher on one, and the boy on the other.
Between the finely balanced writing, illustrations, and message, My New Teacher and Me, provides a powerful reminder to both children and adults about the power of imagination.

This rhyming, silly story is a lot of fun, which is to be expected from Weird Al! Terrific!
