Add a CommentNon-stop action filled fantasy by Chris Columbus, the director of the first two Harry Potter movies, Mrs Doubtfire, Percy Jackson and Home Alone. His experience with movies comes through here, with seamless connections between storylines and characters.
This book was filled with suspense and action, I always liked the constant arguements that Brendan and Cordelia have, and the creative parts with a bunch of fantasy. I was never really into fantasy novels myself, but I highly recommend this for people who like these kinds of books.
This book is awesome, I am still reading it but I just keep on loving it after every single world and the author has inspired me to write my own novel someday, well maybe not a novel but maybe 200 or 300 pages I am just kidding I would never be able to do that. But I would encourage anyone to write a novel any day. I hope I can when i grow up because I am still 10 years old.
The book gives you the creeps and makes you look behind you're back every second to check for somebody or something.
Just read the first and second books but is there a third?
This is a really good book! There is lots of action, adventure and excitement!
this book is so awesome
I extremely enjoyed this book! I started at 9:00pm, but I couldn't put the book down until after I finished it, at 3:00am! If I can say 1 negative thing, I got horrible hangover. Fast-paced, action-packed, if you are over the age of 11, you will love this book! Just start on a weekend, in the morning. I just need to read it again! Cliffhangers? Yes. Adventure? Yes!
Despite a very exciting start, this book did not capture my attention past the middle of the story. The Walker family, down on their luck, move into a house that is "too good to be true." Adventures begin in the mysterious house due to the books written by the author who used to own the house. Nothing really unique here, but it was endorsed by J.K. Rowling, so if you are a fan, you might just like it!
My favourite part was when Brendan, Cordelia, and Eleanor tricked a grown man into thinking that they were ghosts. My favourite character is Brendan because he is funny. This book is about three kids that get whisked away to a fictional land of Denver.
