This is a book which is filled with backstairs gossip and every anti-Elizabeth innuendo that has been said. In places it lapses into sexual slurs and it is really not a book worth reading. Its historical value is nil. Lady Colin-Campebll is no author but a gossip columnist.

This book is a very deliberate load of codswallop. "Lady" Colin Campbell took this approach with a bio of the late Princess Di & made a packet which she/he promptly spent. The technique is to take someone popular and write the most negative possible take on their life. Every bit of silly gossip is treated as gospel; every action is interpreted negatively. The late Queen Mum had her foibles, but she was a smart, tough, and hard-working old girl & deserves better than this hatchet job. Just because it is negative, doesn't mean it's truthful; in fact the errors start on page one. No, she was NOT illegitimate, & LCC knows it.
