3.75 Stars If I had read this book eight years ago immediately after finishing Anna and the French Kiss, I could see that version of myself rating this book closer to five stars. With nearly a decade in between books and a more discerning…

The sequel to Anna and the French Kiss, this book follows the story of Lola an eccentric costume designer. Lola seems perfectly happy, that is until her old neighbors the Bells move back in. This especially causes trouble as her long-lost…

Lola and the Boy Next Door is a 2011 sequel to popular novel Anna and the French Kiss, both written by Stephanie Perkins. As a companion story, this can be very well read on its own, but for those who have read the previous book, the funny…

Stephanie Perkins is one of my favorite authors. Anna and the French Kiss by her is by far one of my favorite romance novels. This is technically book 2, and the main characters Anna and St. Claire do make multiple appearances in this…

I would rate Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins 3/5 stars. This is the second book in the Anna and the French Kiss trilogy. I enjoyed how the book incorporated Anna and Étienne from the first book throughout the story. It was…

Loved it. It wasn't as good as Anna and the French Kiss, but it was still amazing.

Stephanie Perkins sure does know how to write in a way that makes you feel all of the feels. It is so hard to not say the word "cute" when writing a review on one of her books, because they are just so gosh-darn adorable! Loved this and I…

Not quite as good as the first book but still a quick fun read. Will definitely pick up and read the third book in the series soon

Lola Nolan is an aspiring costume designer who still isn’t over the hurt caused by her neighbor Cricket Bell two years earlier. Lola isn’t particularly likeable and frequently comes across as ridiculous. Lola’s troubled biological mother…

Lola and the Boy Next Door is kind of a sequel to Anna and the French Kiss. Kind of, because while Anna plays a small part in it and it's written by the same author, it has no true continuation of the initial story. It's adorable, and very…

This book hooked me the minute the main character stated she didn't believe in fashion, she believed in costume. Lola is a budding costume designer living in San Fran with her two dads and dating a punk rock musician. Life pretty much…

Enjoyable read. Anna and the french kiss is still my favorite but this did have some moments that made me swoon. Love love love Cricket Bell and all his weirdness.

Stephanie Perkins is brilliant. She excels at creating adorable characters with flaws that keep them human. Lola is a delightful protagonist with her ever changing costumes, her slightly overprotective dads, and budding detective best…

I loved the character of Cricket, he was the definition of "the boy next door'. I really liked how Lola's family was set up, even if her mom was kind of crazy (her dads were awesome). But Lola in general, stole the show.

I enjoyed reading this book and it was really neat how the Anna and Etienne came back. I didn't like it as much as I liked Anna and the French Kiss but it was still a fun read.

I'm sorry, Stephanie Perkins, I tried and tried to read this book, but I unfortunately just couldn't get into it. I didn't really like how slow the Lola-Cricket relationship developed.
