One of the major points of the Library Bill of Rights is that parents are responsible for what their children read. It is the goal of public libraries to provide materials for the entire community, including different points of view. This…

If a child can understand a mommy and daddy loving each other then they can understand a mommy and mommy loving each other. Also take notice that all of the negative comments were left within 2 days of each other and they are all…

I'm so sad to see so many fear mongers saying children shouldn't read this book. ALL FAMILIES ARE SPECIAL whether you agree with who they love or not and we should be teaching our children about diversity and accepting people for who they…

fight censorship. Anyone who says that children cannot make informed decisions has never had to rip a book or well-loved movie out of a childs hands. Let the kids pick what they want to read. Don't let parents censor their children and…

I thought this book was really well done. There are many different types of families discussed, and children may recognize families that are similar to their own. Illustrations are bright, colorful, and comforting.

I don’t know how much more I can add to what others have written here, except that children should not be given the task of “selecting” books; this is a task to be performed by their parents. These kids cannot even cross the street after…

In this picture book one of the characters is little Hannah who has “two mommies, Michelle and Annie.” This book should be in the adult area so parents, not librarians, can decide if they want their children to read it. (I wonder how long…

I do not recommend this book to small children, who can’t understand the “two mothers” of one child. Unless, of course, the parents want to acquaint their child with the subject of homosexuality. But why would one want to rush kids? We…

This would be a good book for family story hours. It should be in all grade school libraries. It is very well done. It is sad, but the fact that this book is needed is because some people are so full of hate.

A nice celebration of the diversity of our community. Parents who object to showing the world as it is need only pay attention to the books their children select.
