At first I though it was just a simple story, but by the end of the book, I felt true connection to the characters. Three people: Lucille, a widow who loses the love of her life only after a month, Arthur who lost his beloved wife, and…

I really liked the main characters in this book and the way the author added funny little afterthoughts about cats. It was a pleasure to read but I’m not interested in reading the trilogy, this one was enough.

If you are over 40, then you MUST read this book. Don't argue, just do it. You can thank me later.

Totally loved and now wish I had read them in order, instead of the first one - last! This will teach me not to jump the gun in the future! Great trilogy! Lots of food for thought concerning judgment, criticism, and assuming we know…

This is a sweet book beginning with the meeting of an elderly man and a teenage girl in a graveyard, both there for the solidute of this special place yet for very different reasons. Arthur Moses became Arthur Trulov to the girl, Maddy, as…

Truluv is a moving novel about three people who have lost the person they love most, and must find their way back to happiness. Arthur, a widower, meets Maddy, an angry and friendless teenage girl, while visiting his late wife at the…

Too wordy. Didn't finish the book.

I didn't finish this book because I find many of Elizabeth Berg's books include too many characters - with her books jumping back & forth between people - making it difficult to keep track of who is who, what, where, why!! The plotline in…

Good book. I do not intend to read the other books in the series.

A lovely, encouraging read. I wasn't entirely convinced by any of them. They were all too nice and forgiving. When she introduced the characters it was obvious that the potential was there for all of them to grate on each other; but they…

This is a witty feel good read and contribution to intergenerational literature. If only young people would give this story a chance, I am sure they would open their hearts to the youthfulness and wisdom of the elderly, the value in the…

Though it is a fairly light read, Elizabeth Berg has such a way of interspersing the profound so that even if you cannot relate to the specifics of a character, you can relate to the reflections on life in general. Looking forward to…

Having stumbled upon this novel by chance I had no idea what to expect. I look for historical novels to switch back and forth from one of my greatest loves, historical mysteries. Recently I’ve been reading Paul Doiron’s Maine Game Warden…

I "truly loved" this novel. it is a story of pure love - a love between an old man who is mourning his wife and a young girl who is mourning a mother she barely knew. Thrown in for good measure is a friendly but bossy neighbour, Lucille…

This was a refreshing book about love and kindness when people are on the verge of despair. Arthur, Maddy and Lucille are all going through difficult times and they decide to come together. They let down their guards and this unlikely…

This is such a wonderful book! As I had assumed what I believed would be the path that the ending would take, I was concerned that the book would end on a depressing note, but it was a perfectly written ending. I'm now starting the next…

This is a one-of-a-kind heartwarming story that you don't want to miss. Berg does an amazing job bringing each character to life in a way that makes the reader connect in certain ways to each one. I didn't want the story to end, but it…

Absolutely loved this book; so many happy moments and terribly sad ones but a book that made you think about what is really important in life. Arthur is an elderly man who visits his dearly departed wife each day at the cemetery where he…

The Story of Arthur Truluv is un-put-downable. It very much reminds me of some of the gentle books coming from Swedish authors lately. The Story of Arthur Truluv is about three very different people lost and struggling through their own…
