I like the book (and the series) so much! I would recommend for 6th graders and up, -maybe a mature 5th grade reader. Love the plot twists and exited to read the rest of the series.

So, you pick up a book at the library, saying it looks good. You read it - and it was AWFUL. You do not want to read this book. The wild tonal inconsistency makes it feel like you're reading a roller coaster bookified. Neria comes across…

I couldn't get into it. Fifty pages in and the story is still focused on the girl's relationships. It might be of interest to teenage girls, but not me.

This book was very magical and mythological. This is the first book in the WaterFire Saga series. In this book, the characters changed a lot. The main character, Serafina, started off as a know-it-all perfect princess who always listened…

Has some of the "fun", punny, and humorous things you see with Percy Jackson or Harry Potter...money is called currensea, but it falls flat. There are too many new made-up or unusual terms (ex. permutavi, a peace treaty), it pulls the…

I really loved reading this book. The details were well written, and made all of the locations and characters in this book believable. I feel that there could have been more exploration into the emotions displayed by the characters -…

Deep Blue is a middle-grade mermaid novel. I found myself disappointed in the lack of character development and the obnoxious shalloweness of the characters BUT it's a middle-grade novel. I don't read many of those, so maybe that was a…
