The only reason you should watch this movie is for the acting by Jennifer Garner, Greta Gerwig, Helen Mirren and Nick Nolte. Russell Brand just seems lost and some of his jokes get lost in translation. The only funny bit's in the movie was Brand singing little diddy's at their (Garner and Brand's) engagement party and the kid's during the library (they had better comic timing). The ending was predictable. I prefer the 80's version.
Love This Movie! I like this version better than the original. The original was kinda dark and sad, but this one is really funny and I fell in love with with Arthur... It's hilarious and I highly recommend it.
This is a remake of Arthur (1981) with updates to reflect the newer decade. In the older movie (1981)m the two superb actors Dudley Moore and Liza Minnelli made it classic. You should find the 1981 and enjoy it.
Can't touch the original! And not even Dame Helen Mirren and tough guy Nick Nolte (doing what we all though he'd be like after his 70's debut in the tv series: RICH MAN, POOR MAN) could save this abomination. Russell Brand is busy being... idiotic Russell Brand. Dudley Moore in the original, was at least, a lovable spoiled brat! Brand is just ... bloody annoying! How Katy Perry can stand this twit's act for more than a mere few minutes is beyond me!
Painfully slow and dragged out version, not even coming close to the original. A waste of a very talented cast.
I haven't seen the original version of Arthur, so I cannot say if this one is better or worse. I got a few laughs out of this movies, but it wasn't anything great.
I actually like this version better than the original, though it has been modernized and some scenes are silly. But overall this is a good adaptation with a great sense of humour while still maintaining a serious air.
